The CANS-MCI screening tests are available for use in research and clinical facilities. Longitudinal reports, inclusive of all previous test results, are returned only to researchers and clinical facilities.*

Clinical use of the tests:

Clinical reports* for single testing sessions are now created with semi-automated efficiency by a live research psychologist and returned the same day (usually within one hour) to doctors' offices, clinics, and retirement facilities that are willing to meet our standards for confidentiality and proper interpretation of results to their residents. All current and previous test results will be displayed in the report ($40/full price longitudinal report), with recommendations about to the need for professional neuropsychological evaluations or imaging tests.

If you represent a memory clinic or a licensed clinician and you are interested in having your patients tested, please contact us via email. Please supply your phone number in your email as well as clarification of the nature of your facility, compliance with HIPPA, and your willingness to accept license terms that say the test results will not be used to deny admission to a retirement facility or to deny health coverage to anyone.

Each facility is provided with free software that is programmed for specificity to that facility, and each report is returned for $40. Discounts are available for advance bulk purchases of 50 reports. Results* are returned in the context of background factors evaluated during testing (e.g. family history, a brief depression scale, head injuries, solvent exposure, alcohol and medication use questions). Only the office of origin has the key connecting the data from a testing session to the name of the individual tested. Offices only need to purchase a touch screen (about $400).**

Research use of the tests:

Researchers with IRB approval may submit data to us, and, for a reduced price per session, the data will be scored and returned in an SPSS database. Researchers willing to describe their subject selection procedures and other charcteristics of their studies may receive additional discounts for having their subjects anonymously be part of our age group norm development. Our research to date indicates strong scientific support for the validity and reliability of the fully automated CANS-MCI.

* A sample of the clinical report is available by email. Please supply your phone number in your email as well as clarification of the nature of your facility, compliance with HIPPA, and your willingness to accept license terms that say the test results will not be used to deny admission to a facility or health coverage to anyone.

**We recommend that you use the monitor vendor given below. If you purchase a monitor from this vendor, our opinion is that they provide immediate and friendly help to guide you through any problems you have with the monitor's configuration and setup. Expect to pay about $400 plus shipping costs.

Basic monitor requirements
The main thing we specify is the monitor’s size. The usability and validity studies of the CANS-MCI were performed with specific size monitors at specific resolution. Our tests are designed to be displayed ONLY at a resolution of 640 pixels x 480 pixels. We recommend you display the tests on a 15” monitor (Smaller tablet touch screens require too much skill at touch accuracy and in any case they have not been thoroughly certified by us).

Basic facts about touch-screen systems
A basic touch-screen system is made up of three components: the touch sensor, the controller, and the software driver. If you have a computer with a USB port (and you are NOT using Windows NT) we recommend the USB
controller. (Most computers purchased within the last five years have a USB port. If yours does not, our recommended touch screen is:
L15AX-JA-452G 15" Black LCD Resistive, Serial, Touch Screen with Portrait Stand (about $415 including shipping)

We recommend their identical USB touch screen as well. It should be the same price, but a serial-to-USB adapter is also available from them (about $10), if you wish to use the screen on both types of computers or a laptop.
